I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
